General Robert Abrams Speaks at Military Update Lunch
Last week, the Chamber’s military affairs council hosted its annual Military Affairs Luncheon & Veteran’s Day Salute in the beautiful Harborview Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Honored guest General Robert Abrams spoke to the assembled group about state and federal defense initiatives affecting the coastal Georgia region and took questions from the audience.
Gen. Abrams currently serves as the 22nd commander of the U.S. Armed Forces Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the Army’s largest organization, comprised of 229,000 active duty soldiers. Abrams’ command also provides training and readiness oversight of U.S. Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve units. In total, the Forces Command team includes 776,000 soldiers and 96,000 civilians. Prior to his current command, he was commander of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart.
